Statement of Principles for Child Protection in Greece

The Statement of Principles for Child Protection in Greece resulted from the initiative of the Greek Ombudsman/Department of Children’s Rights and the Institute of Child Health, Department of Mental Health and Social Welfare.

This is the outcome of an open consultancy process, during which dozens of professionals active in the field of child protection participated with comments and observations on the initial draft prepared by the two agencies above.

This Statement is intended to be co-signed by a wide range of public and non-governmental agencies and members of civil society. 

Our ultimate goal is to develop a national alliance that enforces and promotes the institutional consolidation of children's rights with respect to child protection. 

If you are interested in being a part of this initiative, please read the Statement, fill out and submit the following Form of Support (either as a representative of an agency or as an individual). The website’s administrators are responsible for the publication of the supporters’ names.

Form of Support for Agencies                  

As “Agency” one can consider any public authority or legal person of public or private non-profit status.

A public agency can sign the Statement as long as it obtains the right of autonomous decision-making with respect to related subjects and independent public representation.

To publicize the support of a public or a private agency a note signed by the legal representative or other authorized person is required to be sent electronically to paidikiprostasia.gr@gmail.com

Form of Support for Individuals

Every adult citizen can fill in and sign the Statement of Principles. For the publication of his/her personal information a brief description of status (up to 50 characters) and a valid e-mail address are required. The email address is NOT made public, but is saved by the administrators for any possible future communication and information sharing.
