"Investing in Children: A challenge and task for Europe of the 21st century"
The Greek Ombudsman, in collaboration with the European Commission and “Eurochild”, under the auspices of the Greek Presidency in E.C., organises the Consultation Meeting "Investing in Children: A challenge and task for Europe of the 21st century". The event will take place on Friday, 9th of May 2014, 9.00-18.00, at the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Akadimias 1, Syntagma Sq. – ‘I. Kranidiotis’ Hall).
The Consultation Meeting is on the implementation of the Recommendation "Investing in Children: Breaking the Cycle of Disadvantaged", which was adopted by the European Commission in February 2013.
The topic of the discussion is the available instruments at EU as well as at national level to hold governments to account in implementation of the Recommendation, the effective use of the European structural funds and the involvement of Greek public agencies and NGOs in the formation of a national alliance for investing in children in Greece.
